Amirtha Varshini A S is a second-year Masters in Computer Science student at Georgia Tech, specializing in Machine Learning. With a keen interest in Software Development and Machine Learning, Amirtha is actively seeking full-time opportunities as an SDE or ML Engineer starting May 2023. Her research focus is on graph neural networks and explainability in AI, and she is currently working on developing an explainable deep generative graph neural network model (GNN) that performs Spatio-temporal object tracking and models the future movement of objects in an environment at the Robot Autonomy and Interactive Learning (RAIL) Lab at Georgia Tech. Amirtha has a diverse background in the tech industry, having previously worked at Qualcomm's Automotive Team for three years, where she developed software on QNX real-time OS for ADAS (Autonomous Driver Assistance Systems) chipsets. She also interned at Amazon Robotics, where she performed object tracking on segmented shipping labels of the packages handled by Amazon warehouse associates and developed a novel method using Augmented Reality (AR) in Microsoft Hololens 2 to identify the current package picked or stowed, based on the collision of the tracked package’s hologram with a spatially anchored hologram mesh. Additionally, she successfully enhanced AR-ID, an AI and computer vision-based barcode scanner, from single to multiple active packages. Amirtha is passionate about experimenting with new technology and applying it to real-world problems. She believes in an inclusive world developed responsibly with tech. Her education background includes a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from NIT Tiruchirappalli and a Master's degree in Computer Science from Georgia Tech. Her tech stack includes ML, Research Scientist, Software Engineer, AI, Computer Vision, and Neural Networks. Amirtha has relevant experience of 3.95 years and is a Graduate Teaching Assistant of CS 6603 - AI, Ethics, and Society at the College of Computing at Georgia Tech.
